Which media output is best?

Do you offer Pro Wetgate Solution for Dust and Scratches?
Yes – We are rare in the industry since we also offer this service. When a scratch or vertical line in the film emulsion is filled with fluid, light will travel through the film with less refraction which results in less visibility of the damaged parts.
Do you Offer AI Film Restoration for Cine Film

What is Standard 8 film?
Standard 8, sometimes called Regular 8 or Double 8, was widely used for home movies before Super 8 became popular. It has larger sprocket holes and a smaller picture area than Super 8.
Can 8mm cine film contain sound?
Most Standard 8 reels are silent, while some Super 8 films carry a magnetic soundtrack. Other gauges, including 9.5mm and 16mm, may use magnetic or optical sound.
Can damaged reels still be transferred?
Many reels with broken joins, loose leaders, surface dirt or minor damage can still be prepared and scanned after inspection. The result depends on the condition of the film base and image layer.

Film Cleaning and Restoration

Wetgate Film Scanning
Wetgate scanning is an optional professional process used to reduce the visible appearance of fine surface scratches. A specialist fluid temporarily fills shallow marks as the film is scanned, allowing light to pass through them more evenly. On suitable reels, this can produce a noticeably cleaner image.
The process is not a cure for every problem. Deep scratches, missing emulsion, mould damage, severe fading and badly exposed footage cannot be removed simply through Wetgate treatment. Each reel should be inspected first to determine whether the process is appropriate and likely to provide a worthwhile improvement.
Wetgate scanning is often most useful for important footage where surface scratching distracts from otherwise strong images. It should be selected because the film requires it, rather than added automatically to every transfer.
5K Film Scanning
A 5K scan records a high level of image information from each frame. This can be valuable for archive masters, future editing, restoration work or customers who want to preserve as much of the available detail as reasonably possible.
Higher resolution does not automatically make soft, underexposed or shaky footage appear sharp. It captures the surviving image more thoroughly and provides a stronger starting point for processing, reframing and creating smaller viewing copies. File sizes will also be larger, so reliable storage and backup arrangements are important.
